This story is about an amazing family which has been close friends of Bet Elazraki for years…
Along with ongoing contributions to support the children living at Bet Elazraki, the Dabbah family from New York has been "all in" from day one – parents and children together, each giving in their own special way.
This time, it is their son Charles who will soon be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah, who is stepping up and taking on an incredible Chessed Project. Charles has decided to contribute his Bar Mitzvah gifts towards a much needed, fundamental new project - building a Professional Training Program for youth with special needs at Bet Elazraki.

So how did this come about? As our Home accommodates all ages, there are many siblings living together, sometimes even 5 or 6 siblings all living at Bet Elazraki. Some of them have special needs. Though Bet Elazraki does not specialize in helping children with special needs, we have made it our policy not to separate brothers and sisters. These tender children have already faced so many traumas in their short lives… From our years of experience, we have decided that if we can spare them the trauma of being separated and living apart from their brothers and sisters – we will do whatever it takes.

Currently there are 15 youth with special needs living at Bet Elazraki. The Training Program will coach & educate them in specific fields of work suitable for their capabilities and interest, and will enable them to obtain a profession that they can make a living from in the future. It is a project that will literally save their lives. We can't wait to get started… this incredible opportunity that we've been given, to care for each and every one of our children, is a dream come true.
Dear Charles, we can't thank you enough for such a significant initiative!
