Events of the Month at Bet Elazraki - January 2008

The past month at Bet Elazraki has been full of special, exciting events!
Bringing in the Sefer Torah Ceremony:
The Benun and Cohen families arrived at our home all the way from New York in order to present our Children's Home with a very special gift – a Sefer Torah. The ceremony of bringing in the Sefer Torah, dedicated to Benun's parents, was honored with the presence of Rabbi Shlush and Rabbi Cohen, Rabbis of Netanya communities. The exciting moment was felt by all who were present. In the midst of all the excitement, the grandchild Meir Benun celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at our Home, along with our children and his friends from Flatbush School in New York - all the more reason to celebrate! The heavy rain and piercing cold could not compete with the warmth and joy felt by everyone during the ceremony… Quick enough, cheerful dancing circles were formed and everyone was on their feet! The moving, joyful ceremony will stay in our memories for a long time to come… The Flatbush School's visit to our Children's Home symbolizes a unique bond that we share – every year, during winter break, parent-student groups arrive for a visit at Bet Elazraki and we are excited time and time again towards it! We warmly thank the Benun and Cohen families for an unforgettable experience!

The joyful visit was followed by a festive dinner and plenty of music. We would to thank the wonderful Hanc group for sharing such an amazing evening with us…

Inauguration of the Cooperberg's Garden:
Along with the HANC mission we were happy to welcome the wonderful Cooperberg family from West Hempstead, NY and to celebrate a special event – a new Garden at our Infants Emergency Shelter.
The Cooperberg family, dear friends to the children and our Home, has given us this generous gift and now not only do they have a special place in our hearts, but also a special place in our home. The entire family came all the way from New York to spend an afternoon of fun and laughter in the new garden with all the children. The sound of happy children can be heard at the Cooperberg Garden everyday now!
